Presented By:
Vincent Mancini – Senior Research Fellow, The Kids Research Institute
About:
Understanding men’s mental health and wellbeing requires more than surface-level data. Too often, research, surveys and reports overlook the ways gender norms, roles, and expectations shape outcomes for boys and men. This interactive workshop, led by Dr Vince Mancini from the Kids Research Institute, introduces practical tools to incorporate gender analysis into every stage of the research cycle—from question design to data interpretation and reporting. Participants will explore real-world examples, engage in hands-on activities, and leave with clear strategies to improve accuracy, inclusivity, and impact in their own work.
About the Presenter:
Dr Vincent Mancini (PhD, Clinical Psychology) is a Senior Research Fellow at The Kids Research Institute Australia and The University of Western Australia. Vincent’s research broadly investigates the intersection of masculinity with child development, with a specific focus on fatherhood and the impact of father figures on children’s health and development. His research on the role of fathers has been featured in prestigious international journals, delivered to audiences worldwide, and – crucially – is driving improvements to men’s health and wellbeing here in Western Australia.
